East Midlands Airport expects 17% jump in Easter passengers

East Midlands Airport says that 70,000 passengers will fly from the airport this Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Spokesman Ryan Martinez said the airport was ready for the 17% increase on last Easter.
A record 2.5 million Britons will spend Easter abroad, with Spain and its islands the most popular destination. More than 4.7m passengers flew from the airport in 2006 - a 13% increase on the 2005 figures.
