Customer criticises East Midlands Airport car parks

A reader wrote to complain about the car parking arrangements at East Midlands Airport. He had booked parking in car park 2 & 3, but on arrival at car park 3 he found that there was no bus or even a bus stop to be seen, and so had to walk to the terminal.
However, he tells us that worse was to follow. He arrived back at midnight only to be told that there are never any buses now to car parks 2&3, because they are not allowed to reverse back along the road from the entrance to the car park. He had to walk a considerable distance with a heavy suitcase in torrential rain and then had an hour's drive home in soaking clothes.
The reader asks: 'I wonder if this is some silly health and safety reason or a way of reducing costs. At most airports the bus drives into the car park drops off the passengers and then the drives out, without the need to reverse down the road! If this is not possible, why does the airport not state on their website that there are no courtesy buses? I am sure other users of car parks 2 &3 must be similarly astounded by these conditions.'
We put this to the airport, but have yet to receive a response to the query.
