Durham Tees Valley Airport hotel approved

Plans for an £8.5m hotel next to Durham Tees Valley Airport have been approved and work on the development will start early next year. Peel Holdings, the owners of the airport, say the final go-ahead for the new 100-bed hotel, near the main terminal building, will enable it to push ahead and sign an international hotel brand.
Peter de la Perrelle, director of Peel Holdings (Leisure) said ‘The three-star hotel will have a bar, restaurant and meeting rooms and have 106 car parking spaces. It will operated under a franchise agreement with a well-known international brand to be announced shortly.’
The new hotel will be located 300 metres from the airport terminal building. It will be Peel’s third airport hotel.
