Durham Tees Valley Airport is to make redundancies following its recent takeover by a Canadian firm the Northern Echo reports. The airport has confirmed that it is in consultation with three employees. Although it is not clear what roles are affected, from the small number we would guess management and / or sales roles.
Vancouver Airport Services reached an agreement in June to buy a 65 percent share in Peel Airports Limited, which owns Durham Tees Valley along with Liverpool and Robin Hood airports A spokesman for Peel said: ‘Following the recent acquisition by Vancouver Airport Services and as part of a company wide restructuring, it has unfortunately been necessary to enter into a consultation regarding proposed redundancies of a small number of employees at Durham Tees Valley Airport.’
