Durham Tees Valley Airport is expecting one of the busiest weekends of the year despite the economic slowdown in the UK. The majority of flights over the Bank Holiday weekend are already booked ‘full to capacity’.
Airport spokeswoman Emma Ormerod said: ‘It's clear that, despite the worries about the credit crunch and other economic difficulties, many people have decided that they simply want to get away from the clouds and rain which have plagued the UK this summer. The flights going out this weekend are about full to capacity.’
