Fog hits Durham Tees Valley flights
20.02.08
Fog hit passengers at Durham Tees Valley Airport yesterday afternoon and evening, causing a number of flights to be either diverted or cancelled. The bad weather hit early in the day, and got worse in the afternoon. By 16:30 three flights had been cancelled - departures to Aberdeen and Amsterdam and an incoming flight from Amsterdam.
A number of flights were also diverted away from the airport because of the conditions. These included flights from Heathrow, Alicante and Dublin, which had to be diverted to Newcastle, with an Amsterdam flight diverted to Manchester. Passengers were then bussed between the airports.
