bmi adds daily Durham Tees Valley - Heathrow flight
10.11.06
bmi, the parent company of bmibaby, which just weeks ago announced it would stop flying from the airport because of a shortage of passengers, has announced that it will add an extra daily flight between the North East airport and Heathrow. From 13 November there will be an extra inbound and outbound bmi flight from Durham Tees Valley Airport to Heathrow - taking the total to four a day.
Airport bosses welcomed bmi's new announcement and said it was a boost for local people and businesses. Mark Clarkson, business development manager at the airport, said: 'The introduction of the fourth daily frequency is yet another boost for the airport, local businesses and North East travellers.'
