Ryanair blunder at Durham Tees Valley Airport
05.03.08
Passengers arrived at Durham Tees Valley Airport two days early after a blunder by airline Ryanair. The 29 passengers were not told that their flight, the first from the airport to Alicante, in Spain, had been moved from yesterday morning to Thursday.
Ryanair apologised for the mistake and offered all affected passengers a bus to Robin Hood Airport to catch a later flight yesterday afternoon. Peter Sherrard, the airline spokesman, said: ‘Due to a technical fault during the changeover of the Ryanair website, 29 of the 189 passengers booked to travel from Durham Tees Valley to Alicante did not receive a schedule change notice, moving their flight departure from today to March 6. Ryanair sincerely apologises for this mistake.'
