30.09.08
Lesley Kane, Ryanair Head of Sales and Marketing, reaffirmed the budget airline's commitment to Derry Airport. She also forecast that fares from City of Derry Airport will drop by 5% during the winter and said that when the planned runway extension received CAA approval the company would be able to increase its passenger capacity by 29% overnight.
Ms Kane said that while Ryanair had decided to suspend services to East Midlands and Bristol, it had introduced two brand new destinations to Birmingham and Luton which will begin on October 26 and 28, respectively. She said: ‘Speculation has grown with our recent schedule changes. I am here to reconfirm our commitment to the City of Derry Airport.’
