Heavy landing at Carlisle Airport

A pilot has been treated for shock following a heavy landing at Carlisle Airport yesterday.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called after reports that a small aircraft experienced a heavy landing on the runway. The 48-year-old pilot was treated at the scene by paramedics. The plane was seriously damaged.
The runway was shut while the aircraft was removed. An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the incident.
