Ryanair Bristol flight emergency
30.07.11
A Ryanair plane flying from Bristol to Girona experienced a loss of pressurisation late on Monday evening while traveling at 34,000 feet. The plane made an emergency diversion to Limoges Airport in France.
The aircraft was carrying 168 passengers and 7 crew. Those aboard described observing a rush of cold air coming from the rear of the plane, as if someone had opened an exit door. As oxygen masks dropped, some of which are reported not to have worked, the flight crew put the plane into a steep dive, dropping 26,000 feet, or 5,200 feet per minute for 5 minutes, until leveling out at 8,000 feet.
