Bristol Airport expects record summer
29.03.10
Bristol Airport expects a record number of passengers this summer. This weekend, the airport launched a series of new routes including the Isle of Man, Palma, Faro and Gdansk and Venice-Treviso as airlines started their summer schedules, which also sees Continental Airlines revert to daily flight from Bristol to New York.
Passenger numbers were up by 14.2 percent in February, a second successive month of growth at the airport, and management forecasts suggest that summer 2010 could be the busiest in the airport's history.
Shaun Browne, Aviation Director at Bristol Airport, said: ‘The launch of these new routes is an encouraging sign. It shows that airlines recognise the demand for air travel to and from the South West and Wales.'
