Bristol Airport to become performing space
26.09.07
In an attempt to support local entertainers, musicians and artists, Bristol Airport is looking for people to perform in front of the passengers that pass through the terminal each day. The 'Sense of Place' scheme, launched earlier this year, offers a platform for artists to show off their talent and get their name known in front of a huge captive audience.
Events held at the airport so far have been diverse, including live performances from Kingswood's Ten Sing youth performance group, art exhibitions, a motorbike display and demonstration and cheese and cider tastings.
Jacqui Mills, Customer Experience Manager at Bristol Airport, said: 'For local groups, individuals or organisations we can offer the chance to get in front of thousands of passengers and for customer's using Bristol International it will provide an alternative travel experience.'
'Airports are often perceived as clinical spaces that look the same the world over. We can provide a great first impression of the South West and introduce them to some of the best new talent around.'
Entertainers, musicians and artists can find more information and download an application form via the airport's website (www.bristolairport.co.uk/senseofplace).
