Bristol Airport launch kids safe initiative
24.07.10
Bristol Airport has joined with Avon & Somerset Police to launch an initiative to keep kids safe on holiday this summer. Brightly coloured wristbands will be offered to children before they fly, with parents encouraged to put their phone number on the back so they can be contacted should the child get lost.
This initiative has been launched to coincide with the start of the busy summer school holidays. Families who take a ‘Koolband’ will be asked to make a donation of £1.00 to Weston Hospicecare, Bristol Airport’s charity of the year. Koolbands will be available in the main check-in area from Weston Hospicecare volunteers at peak times throughout the summer holiday.
A spokesman for the airport said: 'The Koolbands will help give peace of mind to parents, while at the same time providing a stylish accessory for youngsters. They are a simple way of keeping children safe on holiday, and will raise money for a great local cause at the same time.’
