Passengers up 0.4% at Bristol Airport
22.11.08
Passengers were up 0.4% at Bristol Airport last month as falls in domestic and charter traffic were offset by a rise in international traffic. Over the last 12 months passenger numbers have increase by 8.6%.
Domestic passengers were 7.6% lower at 100,108 last month than in October 2007, and charter passengers were 27.1% lower at 100,137, primarily due to the loss of XL Airways in September. However, international traffic increased 16.7% to 330,283, due to the ongoing impact of the Ryanair base, new easyJet routes and the introduction of Lufthansa in March 2008. Overall passengers were 530,528, up 0.4%.
In the year to the end of October domestic passengers were down 7.7% and carter passengers down 10.8% (both to 1.2m). However, international passengers were up 23.7% to 3.9m, leading to an overall increase in passengers of 8.6% (to 6.3m).
