Man caught with false passport at Bristol Airport

A Ukrainian man was removed from the UK after trying to use a forged passport at Bristol Airport, with his real passport found in his luggage. The man arrived on a flight from Paris on 13 May claiming he intended to visit a friend in West Yorkshire and produced an Estonian passport which UK Border Agency officers found to be fake.
On searching his luggage, officers found his genuine Ukrainian passport in the pocket of a pair of jeans - which he claimed must have been in them when he bought them. The man was detained before being removed to Paris on a later flight, where French border police were waiting his arrival.
Peter Jones, assistant director of the UK Border Agency, said: ‘Our officers at UK ports and airports are experts at spotting forged documents. Stopping fraudulent attempts to enter Britain is a crucial part of our fight to protect our borders from those intent on abusing the system.’
