Bristol Airport passengers down 12.3%
20.12.08
Bristol Airport reported passenger traffic for November down 12.3% on a year earlier. Domestic traffic was 14.0% lower, with international traffic down 9.5%, due largely to easyJet’s winter capacity cuts, partially offset by increased Ryanair capacity.
Charter traffic was 23.6% lower due to the loss of XL Airways in September 2008 and the effect of First Choice / TUI operating only one aircraft, compared to two last year. In the 12 months to the end of November passengers were up 7.2% to 6.22m, with domestic passengers down 8.1% (1.18m) and charter passengers down 11.4% (1.2m), but international passengers up 21.2% (3.85m).
