New Bristol Airport car park applies for planning permission
20.06.07
The company that wants to use a mushroom farm as a giant park and ride facility for Bristol Airport has applied for planning permission for the change of use of the land. Bristol Park & Fly has applied to North Somerset Council to run a 1200-space car park on land at Monaghan's Mushroom Farm in Stock Lane, Langford.
Plans for the off-site car park were met with caution by members of Churchill and Langford Parish Council at a meeting last Monday. Parts of the developer's planning application that relate to transport issues refer to Bristol Airport's masterplan, published last year. But senior North Somerset Council planning officer David Turner, who was at the meeting, said the authority had already found the masterplan 'deficient' because it does not adequately address climate change.
The application is now expected to go before members of North Somerset Council's south area committee meeting.
