Snow and ice hits Bristol Airport flights

Flights to and from Bristol Airport were cancelled and delayed this morning because of winter weather. Five arrivals and one departure were affected, due to a combination of snow and hail followed by low temperatures that caused ice to form on the runway.
The bad weather struck shortly after 07:30 and the runway was closed for more than one hour while it was cleared. Five flights were diverted to the East Midlands and Cardiff, are expected to fly on to Bristol later today.
