Bristol Airport seeks contractors for expansion project
18.12.11
Bristol Airport has announced it needs a framework of 12 contractors to carry out the planned expansion works. The airport is planning a £150 million expansion, which will include an extension to its terminal building, the construction of new walkways and terminal piers, as well as two multi-storey car parks.
In addition to its expansion plans, the airport is also looking to increase its use of renewable energy. As a result, the construction of wind turbines and a biomass facility, which will be used to heat the terminal, is also required. The value of the projects ranges from £2.5 million to £20 million, with the jobs phased in over time in order to meet the demand of the growing number of passengers.
