Flybe launches recruitment drive from regions

The HR director at low cost airline Flybe, Simon Charles, revealled in an interview with Personnel Today he was planning a new recruitment drive to attract pilots and engineers at regional airports.
Flybe is based in Exeter and flies from cities including Southampton, Leeds, Liverpool and Bristol. Mr Charles said: ‘This process isn't as easy as it sounds. Attracting talented individuals into the regions is not as simple as being based in Heathrow.
He said: ‘We want to attract a number of key people into a growing company, and signal a shift away from the current paper-based recruitment model,’ adding that the airline plans to launch an online recruitment site this summer.
