Four companies compete for Bristol Airport duty free franchise
10.07.09
Bristol Airport has revealed that four travel retailers have submitted bids to operate its duty-free concession following a call for expressions of interest in April. An airport spokesperson told DFNIonline: ‘The tender process is progressing well, with four of the main duty-free operators expressing an interest. We expect to be able to announce which bid has been successful in September or October.'
‘We will also be working with the successful bidder to develop a new state-of-the-art walk-through duty-free shop, creating a bigger anchor retail outlet in the departure lounge.’ The Nuance Group has managed the duty-free concession at Bristol Airport for the last 10 years, but the new contract is set to begin on November 1.
