Rugby fan arrested at Bristol Airport

A middle-aged fan of Irish rugby club Munster travelling to the Heineken Cup quarter-final against Gloucester was arrested at Bristol Airport yesterday after he allegedly urinated in the cabin of a flight to the hub.
The chartered flight from Shannon to Bristol, which was full with Munster supporters, was due to depart at 14:00, but was delayed for three hours due to technical difficulties. It is understood that after it finally did take off just before 17:00, the man needed to go to the toilet, but his path was blocked by a steward’s trolley.
Passengers reported that when the man could not get to the toilet, he proceeded to urinate in the aisle. The man was approached and admonished by flight crew and the captain was informed. The flight deck radioed ahead to Bristol Airport to report what had happened.
When the flight arrived in Bristol Airport shortly before 18:00, passengers were asked to remain in their seats for 30 minutes. Police came on board and escorted the man from the plane.
It is understood the man was a regular supporter of the Munster rugby team. Bristol Airport police confirmed a man had been arrested but would give no details of the charges or whether he would be released in time for the game.
