Trolley charges to double at other UK airports
05.07.10
The cost of hiring a baggage trolley has doubled at some British airports. Passengers flying in or out of Luton and Bristol airports will be hit by soaring trolley hire charges, with the price rising from £1 to £2 last week. And the cost, which kicks in just as summer holiday season gets going, is non-refundable.
Operator Bagport said the price rise would enable it to provide a quality service after a recent declines in passenger numbers. The new charge will also hit Cardiff Airport in the coming weeks and will be rolled out across a number of other airports later in the year. Travellers with some foreign currency in their purses can pay slightly less, as the equivalent charge in euros remains at €2 (£1.65).
