Work starts on Bristol Airport upgrade
04.11.07
Work is due to start on a £7.5m scheme to update facilities at Bristol Airport this week. The work includes an extension to the security search area which should increase passenger numbers passing through at peak times.
A spokesman for the airport said: 'The creation of more space in the security search area follows the introduction of additional security measures at all UK airports. As an interim measure, an extra x-ray machine is in operation, but this is not an ideal long term solution.'
Paul Kehoe, the recently appointed Chief Executive of Bristol Airport, added: 'The scale of this investment shows our continued determination to provide best-in-class airport facilities for the South West.'
