Bristol Airport has been nominated for a 2008 Globe Travel Award. The hub has been shortlisted in the best regional UK airport category, the Western Daily Press reports.
The airport has enjoyed rising passenger numbers in recent months and this year is expected to handle some 6 million passengers. In August the hub handled over 636,000 passengers - up 5.8 percent on a year earlier - and 7,213 aircraft movements.
The ceremony will be held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on January 15, where members of the travel industry will announce the winners.
