Blackpool Airport announce new boss
27.10.09
Blackpool Airport will begin the New Year with a new boss, when Paul Rankin takes over as airport director. Previous boss, David Kershaw, left in the summer months after a controversial £10 tax on passengers and free airport parking was introduced.
The new boss has told The Gazette he wants to take the airport forward when he arrives on January 4. With more than 25 years' experience under his belt, he is currently general manager for airside operations and security at Bristol Airport.
Mr Rankin said: ‘I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead Blackpool International forward in 2010 and beyond. While we are all aware of the challenging economic climate, especially for the aviation sector, the airport's efforts will remain focused on development and growth and continuing to provide a great passenger experience.'
‘I am looking forward to strengthening relationships with the airport's key customers and stakeholders and to working with the team at Blackpool International. With their support and assistance, I am certain the airport's future will be prosperous one.’
