Classic plane flights at Blackpool Airport
27.05.07
Blackpool Airport is offering passengers the chance to make a flight over the Irish Sea in a Second World War plane. Classic Flight, the Coventry-based custodian of vintage aircraft, is bringing one of its most cherished examples, a DC-3 Dakota from Thursday (May 31) until next Sunday (June 3).
The airfield says it is a rare opportunity for the public to discover what flying was like more than 60 years ago. Classic Flight's chief pilot, Jon Corley, said: 'One of the real privileges is to fly war veterans, and to see the emotion on their faces as they take their seats.'
Flights cost £55 per person for a 15 minute flight (25 minutes chock to chock). It's possible to book on the day, over the telephone on 08703 304 747 or via the website www.classicflight.com.
