Private Charter company launches scheduled flights from Blackpool Airport

As we reported almost two weeks ago, Blackpool Airport has finally confirmed that it has added three new routes. The fast-transit business service between Blackpool and Belfast City, Aberdeen and Southampton is to be launched by Jetstream Express, a private charter company.
The new routes are the first foray into scheduled services for the experienced charter and Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) operator Jetstream Executive Travel. The airline will offer week-day only services, twice daily to Belfast City from 8th May, and daily to Aberdeen and Southampton from 4th June and 2nd July respectively.
Jetstream Express is led by Jetstream Executive Travel director Steve Green and independent financier John Hardcastle. The company says it has identified an opportunity to deliver fast-transit business services linking UK regional airports that can deliver the tight 'kerb-to-gate' times that business customers demand.
Mr Green said: 'Jetstream Executive Travel has already helped establish airlines throughout Europe and Africa. We're focussed on getting passengers out of their cars, through the airport and into the air as quickly and comfortably as possible. And because we're offering a true business service, passengers will benefit from free in-flight hospitality and access to the Blackpool Airport lounge too.'
The service will operate using 19-seater Jetstream 31 aircraft. Mr Hardcastle said: 'We're using aircraft that are ideally suited to short-haul routes, and insist on our own crews - their commitment is essential for us to achieve fast turn-around times and the highest standards of passenger service.'
Fares on the new routes are from £54 to Belfast, £59 to Abedeen and £57 to Southampton (all one way, exclusive of taxes and charges). For more information visit www.jetstreamexpress.com.
