Emergency services were put on standby as an plassenger plane made an emergency landing at Blackpool Airport on Tuesday, the Gazette reports. The jet was travelling from Innsbrook in Austria to Douglas Airport on the Isle of Man with 52 passengers on board.
The pilot of Viking Airlines Flight 834 alerted air traffic control he was experiencing technical difficulties at around 13:00 on Tuesday and was quickly diverted to Blackpool. It made a ‘heavy’ landing on the runway at 13:20. Dave Rigby, ambulance sector manager for the Fylde, told the newspaper: ‘There were no injuries, but some of the passengers were a bit shaken up.'
