Man flies on sister’s passport

An inquiry has been launched after a man flew from Birmingham Airport on his sister's passport, the Sun reports. Kasim Raja, 26, had his travel documents checked twice by staff at the airport - but they did not notice the picture and details were that of Samina, 22.
Mr Raja flew to Islamabad, but was stopped by airport security there last weekend, held for two hours then deported. He told the newspaper: 'I was in a rush and grabbed what I thought was my passport as I left home. It doesn’t say much for airport security - I don’t look anything like my sister. I’m furious with the security officials. Now I’ve lost £1,000 on this trip, have had to pay again and reschedule my flight. They refuse to refund me.'
A spokeswoman for Birmingham Airport said security checks 'are the responsibility of the airline, handling agent and Border Control agency.' Swissport, which handles check-ins for Pakistan International Airlines, has launched an investigation.
