New VIP private jet company prepares to take off from Birmingham Airport

A new VIP private jet airline is preparing for take off from Birmingham Airport, with plans to fly footballers, pop bands and wedding parties in and out of the city. Cello Aviation will be launching soon, after 18 months of preparation. It will be based at the airport’s Elmdon Terminal, and already employs 20 people in management and cabin crew positions.
The company has spent the last four months fitting a luxury interior to its 46-seater Avro Business Jet – and hopes to attract a range of high-value customers. The plane’s low noise footprint means it can fly into a wider number of airports, Cello said. And while most of its requests so far had come from the UK, it had already received enquiries from Sweden, France, Switzerland and Spain.
Tony Farmer, marketing and sales manager at Cello, said: ‘Customer groups including sports teams, entertainment groups, luxury weddings and product launch customers are likely to be the main users of this specialist aircraft. Enquiries to date have far exceeded our expectations and Premier League football teams and German and French new car launches are planned to be some of the first users of the aircraft in June.’
