A mother caught smuggling £18,000 worth of cannabis into the UK from Jamaica has been jailed. A judge heard yesterday that Donna Ives, who was travelling with her adult daughter when they were stopped by customs officers at Birmingham airport, had become involved in a bid to pay off debts.
At Warwick Crown Court MS Ives, 46, of Mosshouse Close, Lee Bank, was jailed for 12 months after pleading guilty to being involved in illegally importing the cannabis.
