RSA helps Flybe meet data security standard

RSA, the security division of EMC, has announced that Flybe has deployed its RSA enVision software in order to help it comply with the payment card industry data security standard when processing payments. By deploying RSA's enVision platform, Flybe will be able to centrally track and monitor all access to network resources and safeguard cardholder information.
The payment card industry data security standard (PCI DSS), which is governed by major credit card companies Visa, Mastercard and American Express, lays down guidelines for protecting the storage and access of customers' credit card data.
85% of Flybe passengers make bookings online, resulting in vast amounts of confidential data being processed and stored over the internet. Flybe, with more than 2,000 devices connected to its databases, required a technology that would research and investigate system and network events thoroughly.
Chris Cooper, IT security manager at Flybe, said: ‘RSA enVision platform provides us with a comprehensive view of network activity and instantly alerts us about events that might present a risk to customers' confidential information.’
