Birmingham Airport announce three management appointments
17.04.10
Birmingham Airport – which recently attracted the ire of workers by freezing pay among its 600-strong workforce – has announced three new management members. Martyn Lloyd and Jo-Anne Lloyd have been appointed air services development director and head of brand respectively, whilst current head of communications John Morris has moved to the new role of head of government and industry affairs.
Earlier this week airport chief executive Paul Kehoe rejected union offers to defer the pay freeze until summer, saying there was no prospect of growth at the airport in the immediate future. But he said the long-term growth prospects at the airport had led to the management appointments.
Both Martyn Lloyd and Jo-Anne Lloyd join from Luton Airport. Martyn Lloyd was commercial director, where he brought in a number of new airlines and launched 20 new routes last year. Previous roles include commercial director at Manchester Airport, and before that he held management roles at Bristol, Stansted and Heathrow airports. He was brought in to try to increase air traffic at Birmingham by bringing new airlines and increasing the route network at the airport.
Jo-Anne Lloyd was marketing and communications manager at Luton, where she led a re-brand of the airport and the roll-out of an integrated e-commerce strategy.
