Turkish Airlines begin flights to Birmingham

Turkey's national air carrier, Turkish Airlines, has begun flights to Birmingham Airport. An Airbus 321 passenger jet arrived at the Birmingham Airport from Istanbul at 10:25.
The first passenger to leave the jet was the President of the airline's Executive Board, Candan Karlitekin. Passengers were greeted with roses while passengers headed to Istanbul from Birmingham were sent with gifts.
Birmingham is Turkish Airlines' 142nd destination. The new flights will operate five times a week, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
