Flybe to launch credit card
15.10.07
Regional budget airline Flybe is to launch a 'Spend & Fly' Mastercard credit card in January. It has signed what has been described as a 'a multi-million pound deal' with LaSer UK, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas.
The credit card will be integrated with Flybe's rewards4All frequent flyer scheme and reward users for ongoing spending on the card. Those taking out the card will automatically receive one free return flight upon their first transaction. Then, for every £250 spent on the Flybe MasterCard, members will receive one point. When 16 points have been collected, members will receive further free return flights. This equates to a free flight for every £4,000 spent.
The new credit card will also help bolster Flybe's ancillary revenue. Rival airlines including BA, Virgin, Ryanair and easyJet already have similar deals. The launch will be supported by press, direct mail and online campaign in December.
Flybe marketing director Simon Lilley says users will also receive competitive rates, promotional offers and preferential alerts to the airline's flight and holiday promotions.
