Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline, is celebrating another success after winning the UK Business Achievement Award at the annual Franco-British Business Awards, hosted by French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain (FCCGB). The accolade was presented in recognition of Flybe's successful acquisition and integration of British Airway's regional service, BA Connect, in March 2007.
The FCCGB has a membership of over 1300 senior French and British executives and facilitates the development of its member's business activities. It also assists UK companies to export and set up subsidiaries in France.
As the largest provider of routes from the United Kingdom to France, Flybe operates more than a hundred weekly departures to the different French regions, including airports such as Nice, Avignon, Limoges, Brest and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
With 820,000 passengers carried to and from France to date this year, Flybe has bought an estimated €80 million to the regional French economy. Mike Rutter, Chief Commercial Officer said: 'We're absolutely thrilled to be receiving such a prestigious award.'
