Ryanair ‘rescue package’ for bmibaby passengers
05.12.08
Ryanair has announced a ‘rescue offer’ to passengers who have been affected the cancellation of a number of routes by rival budget carrier bmibaby. bmibaby revealed last month that it would suspend routes from Birmingham Airport to a number of destinations including Rome, Lisbon, Madrid and Bordeaux, as well as some routes from East Midlands Airport.
Ryanair has offered special rates on some of the destinations affected by the cancellations, with passengers only required to pay the taxes and charges for the flights - paying nothing for the flights.
Stephen McNamara, Marketing Manager at Ryanair, said: ‘Most people make hay while the sun shines but bmibaby closes routes while the sun shines! Passengers who are affected by the closure of bmibaby's routes from Birmingham and East Midlands now have the choice of a rescue offer of flights to Rome, Milan, Biarritz and Prague.'
