Fire closes Birmingham Airport train station

A fire closed Birmingham International train station - which serves Birmingham Airport and the NEC - for two hours yesterday.
Passengers and staff were ordered to leave the building after the blaze started in a cafe inside the station at around 10:00. The fire was controlled quickly and there have been no reported injuries.
Travellers at the station are already affected by overrunning engineering works on the West Coast Mainline. Buses were used to ferry stranded passengers to another local rail station.
