Monarch to maintain US Airways planes at Birmingham Airport
01.07.09
Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAE) has signed a contract with US Airways to provide maintenance support for the American airline's flights into Birmingham Airport this Summer season. The agreement, which commenced in May, will see Monarch's staff carrying out daily checks, unscheduled maintenance and ETOPS support for a US Airways Boeing 757 aircraft operating between Birmingham and Philadelphia on a five times per week summer scheduled service.
MAE and US Airways have previously worked together at Glasgow Airport. The new contract will last for three years, and MAE Managing Director Richard Mintern said: ‘We are delighted that US Airways chose us as their maintenance partner for their flights to Birmingham. With such fierce competition in the maintenance support market, our commitment to customer care and strong reputation for quality, allied to our previous experience working with US Airways at Glasgow, put us in a strong position and we look forward to building on our existing relationship over the next three years.’
