Belfast Airport road access an 'embarrassment'
23.02.08
Road access to Belfast International Airport, Northern Ireland's busiest air hub, has been blasted as an ‘embarrassment’ compared with links to Europe's airports. Assembly member Thomas Burns claimed further growth at the airport was being stymied by poor infrastructure which could put off potential investors.
The SDLP South Antrim councillor said he ‘agrees wholeheartedly’ with easyJet spokesman Tony Nichol, who recently branded the road links shameful. Mr Burns said he could not understand why airport traffic was still having to travel through bottlenecks such as Templepatrick, and urged the road between Nutts Corner and the airport to be dualled.
