Four bidders for Belfast City Airport
22.07.08
A shortlist of four bidders has been drawn up for the sale of Belfast City Airport, the Belfast Telegraph reports. The airport was put on the market in May by its owners, Grupo Ferrovial, which is trying to reduce its debts after buying UK airports operator BAA.
There has been no immediate comment from either Ferrovial or the airport but it is reported that the aim is to complete the deal, which could be valued at £100m, by the end of October. At present Ferrovial is involved in carrying out ‘due diligence’ - checking the details of the bidders and their offers - and this process is expected to take a number of weeks.
