Belfast City Airport stages crash simulation
17.04.08
Emergency services took part in a simulation of a major airport crash at Belfast City Airport yesterday. Police, fire and ambulance crews were asked to deal with a plane arriving from Paris which has crashed with 65 passengers onboard.
A smaller-scale exercise took place at the airport on Monday to show the media what the emergency services might face. Airport operation manager Mark Beattie said the exercise offered staff invaluable training, adding: ‘The exercise is primarily to allow us to test out our emergency plan.'
