A man was stopped at Belfast International Airport with £20,000 of suspected herbal cannabis at the weekend. Appearing at the High Court yesterday, Kenneth Farrell, 21, claimed he bought the drugs in an Amsterdam coffee shop to save himself money.
Mr Farrell, of Bluebell Road, Dublin, said he was offered the 2kg batch of drugs for €400 after being separated from friends during a weekend trip to the Dutch city. He faces a charge of importing class B drugs following his detention by UK Borders Agency officers on Sunday.
