Aer Lingus axe five Belfast routes
10.09.09
Aer Lingus is cutting its Belfast flights this winter, taking one plane out of service and axing routes to Barcelona, Milan, Paris, Rome and Faro. The move is part of the airline’s wide ranging cuts to its winter schedule, which will also see it make 55 cabin crew in Dublin redundant.
The airline plans to slash short haul services over the winter, with the number of aircraft based in Dublin cut from 24 to 22 and the number in Belfast cut by one. However, new services from Belfast to Tenerife and Dublin to Fuerteventura and Tunisia will be launched in October.
