Aer Lingus has taken its 500,000th booking for flights from Belfast International Airport. The airline reached the milestone less than a year after it launched operations from the airport, its first base outside the Republic of Ireland.
Enda Corneille, corporate affairs director for Aer Lingus, said: ‘We're delighted to have reached the half a million mark. Growth continues to be in line with our expectations. The support from the travelling public in Northern Ireland has been fantastic, and with a growing selection of routes on offer to popular sunshine and city break destinations, we hope to build on this success in the months ahead.’
The airline has added a number of services to its schedule from Belfast International Airport, with flights to Lanzarote to begin on September 27, while services to both Munich and Milan will get underway on October 28.
