Aer Lingus add Belfast routes
09.05.08
Three new routes are being launched from Belfast International Airport by Aer Lingus. The airline is to introduce new flights from Belfast to Munich, Milan and Lanzarote later this year as part of its winter timetable.
The new routes will take the number of direct scheduled international destinations available from the airport to 34. Extra flights on existing routes to Malaga and Rome have also been added to the schedule, with flights continuing to Heathrow, Paris, Amsterdam and Barcelona.
John Doran, managing director of Aer Lingus, said the new routes will significantly enhance access to Europe from Northern Ireland. He said: ‘The addition of Italy's second and Germany's third cities to the extensive international route network from Belfast International Airport signifies more landmark progress and adds further substance to the Aer Lingus' route network from this region.'
Flights to Munich and Milan will operate on three days a week (and can be booked from Monday, May 12) and Lanzarote on two days a week. There will be weekly flights to Malaga and Rome plus Heathrow (three times daily), Paris (daily), Amsterdam (daily) and Barcelona (four days weekly).
