Aer Lingus and United Airlines sign codeshare deal
06.04.08
Irish airline Aer Lingus and US airline United have signed a codeshare deal, which will give their passengers access to more destinations in Europe and the US without having to make separate bookings.
Aer Lingus said in a statement on Tuesday that, subject to US government approval, the agreement will allow its customers to fly to an additional 200 US destinations by picking up connecting United Airlines flights. Customers of United Airlines will now be able to fly direct to Dublin with Aer Lingus rather than having to fly to Heathrow and pick up a connecting flight with bmi or fly to Belfast via Heathrow using Aer LIngus' link launched this year.
The agreement will also give US passengers landing in Ireland access to Aer Lingus destinations across Europe.
