05.05.09
Belfast International Airport is to gain winter sun flights to Egypt for the first time, despite the economic downturn. Flights to the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh will be operated from December to April by Thomas Cook Airlines, it was announced today.
The area is renowned as a mecca for water sports including diving and snorkeling. Pete Constanti, chief executive of Mainstream Travel at Thomas Cook, said: ‘We are very pleased to introduce Sharm el Sheikh to our Belfast programme. It is important to us to be able to give customers new and exciting holiday destinations, so they can have the holiday they want.’
